Stranger Approached Small Boy, Police Say

A man claiming to be looking for his dog approached a young boy late Sunday afternoon in Easton's South Side neighborhood, and police are investigating the incident.

Police say that at about 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, an unknown man approached a 5-year-old that was playing in the 100 block of East St. Joseph Street and asked the child if he had seen his dog. When another adult approached and began speaking with the man, he reportedly left, driving a green SUV.

The man has been described as a heavy-set white male who is approximately 40 years old. He was wearing a baseball cap.

Stranger Approached Young Girl in West Ward Back Yard

A man reportedly approached a young girl in the West Ward Tuesday afternoon, and Easton police are investigating.

According to a release issued by the Easton Police Department, the unidentified man was in the back yard of a local residence in the 300 block of North Ninth Street at about 4 p.m. and asked an 11-year-old girl "What are you doing?" and said, "Come over here."

The unidentified man was also reportedly seen in another neighbor's yard acting in a suspicious manner.

The man is described as being black, about 6 feet tall, with short dreadlocks. He was wearing a red shirt at the time of the incident.

No one was injured, and the man left, police said. The incident was reported to police yesterday, they said.
