A block party on the southeast quadrant of Centre Square is set for Friday, August 16 from 5 to 9 p.m., at four bars: Drinky's, Mothers Bar & Grille, Pearly Baker's Alehouse, and Rival's Sport Bar and Nightclub. Multiple drink and food specials, pig roast, live music by Dear Anna, all for $10 per person, with the proceeds going towards the upcoming "Wounded Warrior" event at Drinky's. The 6th Annual Derriere in the Delaware happens next Saturday, August 17 beginning at 10 a.m. Enjoy your day by dunking your derriere in the Delaware. All proceeds benefit the Easton Area Police Athletic League's Cops 'n Kids Reading Room. $5 per person, plus $10 for a tube, which is yours to keep or can be donated back to EAPAL. Float begins at Eddyside Park, ends at Scott Park. Buses will be available to take tubers from Scott Park upriver to Eddyside for river access. Rain date is Sunday, August 18. Maronite Church Prepares for Lebanese Heritage Days

Members of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church on South Fourth Street in Downtown Easton have been busy this week preparing for the 36th annual Lebanese Heritage Days festival, set to take place this weekend on Saturday, August 3 and Sunday, August 4.

While some volunteers have been busy with food preparations in the church's kitchen, others have worked to begin erecting tents in the parking lot, where most of the festival will take place.

And, the young dancers, who are one of the main highlights of the event, have been seen perfecting their routines outside for the last few weeks. This year the troupes' numbers have swelled noticeably, said dance instructor Marta Gabriel.

Featuring a plethora of Lebanese food, dancing, live music, children's activities, and a vendors' marketplace, the annual festival always attracts an enthusiastic crowd, many of who are not church members, but come from around the city and beyond to partake of one of Easton's most popular cultural festivals,

The event will run on Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is free and the festival happens rain or shine.
