Food, Dancing Are Highlights of 37th Annual Lebanese Heritage Days Festival

By Christina Georgiou

Thousands of guests gathered at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church  at South Fourth and Ferry streets in Easton over the weekend to partake in the church's 37th Annual Lebanese Heritage Days festival.

An estimated 7,000 people attended over the course of the weekend. Many  enjoyed traditional Lebanese foods, including grilled chicken in a pita with garlic sauce, shish kabab, hummus, tabbouleh, kibbe, and a wide assortment of delicious pastries.

Young dancers showed off their talents with troupe performances both Saturday and Sunday evenings. Then the crowd danced to the strains of Amin Sultan and his band, stopping only after organizers began dismantling tents on Sunday night.

Most of the festival goers were local to the Easton area, but some traveled a distance to attend, including some visitors from Australia and London.
