Scene in Easton: Monster's Ball Rocks Nurture Nature

October is all about Halloween in Easton.

Last week, the city streets were crawling with zombies at the pub scene on Saturday night; this weekend, a sizable crowd of local "monsters" donned their best finery for a masqued ball at the Nurture Nature Center.



Proceeds from the event, held by the organizers of the Easton Haunted Walking Tour, which takes place next Friday and Saturday evening, Oct. 26 and 27, benefitted Easton Main Street. Tickets for the tours are $10 in advance or can be purchased at the beginning of each tour for $15. For more information, visit www.hauntedeastontour.com

Another costume dance is set to take place next Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Third Street Alliance, with the proceeds to go to Easton Peace Candle. The event is BYOB, with raffles and prizes. Tickets are $20 in advance, and $25 at the door.  Tickets can be purchased at Bloomie’s Flower Shop, 21 North Second Street ; Madame Mim’s, 22 North Third Street , and on the second floor of Easton's City Hall . 

Kids finally get their chance to strut their stuff too, with the Easton-Phillipsburg Halloween Parade on Sunday, Oct. 28. The parade kicks off on the New Jersey side of the free bridge at 3 p.m. and ends in Easton at the Centre Square. All are welcome to participate--the event is free.

Just north of Easton, Easton Haunts at the Haunted Mill in Tatamy runs Friday and Saturday evenings with two attractions for one ticket price of $25 per person--the Fear Factory and the 3D Freak House. For more information and directions, visit www.eastonhaunts.com

And, of course, on Wednesday, Oct. 31, all of Easton and the greater Easton area celebrates Halloween. Trick-or-treat times are set in the City of Easton, along with West Easton, and Palmer, Forks and Williams townships, for 6 to 8 p.m.

Scene in Easton: Zombies Crawl City Pubs

With Halloween only a couple of weeks away, zombies and other creatures of the night took the opportunity to celebrate a little early Saturday evening.

The Easton Haunted Walking Tour, expanding its offerings this year beyond their annual scary seasonal  pedestrian traipse though the city's back alleys and the darker aspects of Easton history, held the "Zombie Pub Crawl" Saturday evening, to the delight of local undead.

Kicking off at Drinky's on Centre Square, numerous zombies and other denizens of the night gathered to raise a glass, mingle with kindred spirits and plot the rest of the witching season's activities.

Proceeds from the event, along with the Monster's Ball, set to be held next Saturday, on Oct. 20, and the Easton Haunted Walking Tour itself on Friday and Saturday, October 26 and 27, benefit Easton's Main Street Initiative.
