First Monday - “Rafting on the Delaware River”: Noon. Henry Skirbst, author of “The Rise and Fall of Timber Rafting on the Delaware River”,  will give a talk and slide presentation, which outlines the timber trade that once flourished in the local area and used  the river. The book, along with several others authored by Skirbst, “Our Icy Past: Living on a Moraine”; “Tales and Trails”; “Tales of a Battleground”; “Tales of a Frontier Land” will be available for sale during the event. AARP Palmer Township Chapter 2144 Meeting: 1 p.m. Mary Bach presents "Are You Getting What You Paid for?" Wilson Borough Community Center, 2200 Liberty St., Wilson Borough.

"Simply Savory": 5:30 to 9 p.m. ProJeCt of Easton's annual fundraiser, an exciting and delicious evening of food, wine, and beer tasting from local eateries. Live entertainment provided by the Easton High School Chamber Orchestra, a silent auction, and a raffle for prizes including a $1,000 gift certificate to Beverly Palm Jewelers. $75 per person. Easton City Council special meeting/2013 preliminary budget presentation: 6 p.m. City Hall, 1 South Third St.

Wilson Area School Board meeting: 7 p.m. William P. Tollinger Administration Building, 2040 Washington Boulevard, Wilson Borough.

Palmer Township Board of Supervisors meeting: 7 p.m. In the Palmer Library meeting room, at the Municipal Complex, 1 Weller Place (off of Newburg Road), Palmer Township.

"How to cook like my Bubbe, a celebration of Jewish Cooking!": 6:30 p.m. Professional chef Leslie Goldsmith will share her secrets on the “how to” of preparing Jewish cuisine--for this class, the ins and outs of baking challah.  Ingredients for the classes are provided, however, your favorite cooking supplies and tools will be needed. $20 or $125 for the whole eight-session course. Fry's Run Watershed Association meeting: 7 p.m. Community Building, 655 Cider Press Road, Williams Township.

An Evening of Music and Conversation with Musicians of Inti-Illimani: 7 to 8:30 p.m. The famed Latino folk  band from Santiago, Chile. The ensemble commands a large array of instruments, both from within the guitar family and flutes and wind instruments of Andean folk origin. 38th Annual First Flag over the United Colonies Band Festival: 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Local and regional high school bands compete. Rain date is Thursday, Oct. 4. Tickets are $4 and $3 for seniors and students in advance; $5 and $4 for seniors and students at the gate. Cottingham Stadium, 11th and Northampton streets.

Inti-Illimani Performance: 8 p.m. Composer’s chat with artistic directors at 7 p.m. Inti-Illimani celebrates its 45th anniversary, revisiting earlier bodies of work, while also introducing American audiences to new compositions, fresh arrangements of established repertory, and several new songs more recently created by Chilean poets and lyricists and guest composers.
