The Easton Area High School Jazz Band and Spatial Edition, a classic jazz quartet, will be featured on Saturday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Easton's Riverside Park Amphitheatre. The free concert is sponsored by the City of Easton Mayor's Office of Special Events (MOOSE).
The event is in honor of Jazz Day, designated by the U.S. Conference of Mayors for the following Tuesday, on April 30. The mayors' organization encourages jazz related activities and programming in participating communities in honor of the day.
Mayor Sal Panto has issued a proclamation announcing Easton's participation.
"America’s jazz heritage deserves to be appreciated as broadly as possible and should be part of education in both America’s children and adults," Panto said in a media release announcing the event.
The MOOSE will also be sponsoring additional concerts, a comedy night, and free movies in the parks around the city later this year.
