A showing of "The Turtle and the Nightingale", a short film by Easton filmmaker Gershon Hinkson, will precede a bullying awareness and prevention workshop for professionals that work with children planned for Tuesday, December 17 at the Boys & Girls Club of Easton. The movie follows the lives of three 12-year-olds engulfed in the complicated world of bullying.

The film screening is set for noon, along with a brown bag lunch, with the workshop following from 1 to 3 p.m.

"Play Well with Others…Be Active against Bullying" will feature John Smith, 1989 National Physical Education Teacher of the Year and 2005 National High School Basketball Coach of the Year who is now an educational consultant for FlagHouse Inc., which is partnering with the Boys & Girls Club to offer the workshop.

"Play Well with Others" is an activity-based workshop with games and activities for all ages covering the theme of bullying awareness and prevention. Participants will engage in the games and activities and will learn how teamwork, problem solving and playing together can help children be active against bullying.
