In keeping with the "reason for the season", volunteers will again conduct a live outdoor depiction of the Nativity on the grounds of Arndt's Lutheran Church, 1851 Arndt Road in Forks, on Saturday, December 14 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Children will pose in the nativity scene with a stable area that includes a burro, lambs and goats, while volunteers from the church will read the Christmas story continuously while music plays in the background and a large lighted star illuminates the scene.

Visitors can linger at the stable, enjoy the animals, socialize, and gather around a celebratory fire which will be lit in the Scout Troup 29 Outdoor Education area.

The congregation will also light the grounds of the church with candle luminaria for the Advent event.

At 6 p.m., a church service will held in the sanctuary of the church.

All are welcome to attend both the nativity depiction and the service, which the church says "will provide a peaceful scene to appreciate the true Christmas story."

Visitors are also invited to bring donations of peanut butter, jelly in plastic jars, or canned soup to the church, which will be contributed to the Interfaith Food Pantry in Downtown Easton.

In the case of severe inclement weather, such as exteme cold, hard rain, or deep snow, the event will be cancelled.

For more information, contact the church office at 610-253-3732 any weekday morning.
