It is open to all area youth, both boys and girls, ages 5 to 18. Participants in the RBI "Bring Back the Bases" program will learn the fundamentals of the sport of baseball and related activities like t-ball, wiffle ball, and foam ball.
The program was inspired by Boys & Girls Club staff and the movie "42", a tribute to Jackie Robinson. The goal is to provide youth with a safe place to play the game, under the guidance and coaching of professional staff, a media announcement said.
Registration begins on Saturday, May 4 and ends on Saturday, May 11. The cost is $5 for current B&G Club members, and $20 for non-members, which includes a 12-month membership to the club as well.
Try outs and weekly practices start on Tuesday, May 14. Practice days and times are as follows:
- Tuesdays, 6 to 7:30 p.m., t-ball for ages 5 to 9
- Wednesdays, 6 to 7:30 p.m., wiffle ball for ages 10 to 12
- Thursdays, 6 to 7:30 p.m., foam ball for ages 13 to 15
