Man Found Injured in Phillipsburg May Have Been Stabbed in Easton

An injured man found on Morris Street in Phillipsburg, NJ last night told police the injury occurred in Easton.

Police say the victim was found at about 9:40 p.m. suffering from a stab wound, and upon their arrival, told officers he had been stabbed in the area of North Second and Spring Garden streets in Easton by someone he was familiar with.

However, Easton police were unable to locate crime scene, they said, and have added the victim is refusing to cooperate with their investigation.

Police said this afternoon they are confident the incident was drug related and that the victim was the intended target of the assault.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive his injuries, police added. Authorities are continuing to investigate circumstances surrounding the assault.

The suspect is described as a black male with cornrows, wearing a baseball cap and glasses.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Inspector Daniel Reagan at 610-250-6796.
