A 7-year-old Easton boy narrowly escaped being abducted on his way to school this morning, and police are looking for the man who tried to kidnap him, authorities announced this afternoon.
Easton police report a man grabbed the child by his backpack and shoulders this morning at about 8:45 a.m. while the boy was walking in the 1100 block of Pine Street towards Paxinosa School, but the boy managed to get away.
The suspect is described as being a light-skinned black male, about 5-feet-8-inches tall with a heavy build. He was wearing a red hat, brown sweatpants, and white sneakers at the time of the incident, and reportedly walked east on Pine Street, police said.
The suspect was also reportedly injured as the child escaped and may have been bleeding from his face, they added.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call Detective Darren Snyder at 610-250-6637.
