Presentations to Focus on Housing Discrimination, Renters' Rights


Two upcoming presentations will aim to educate members of the public about what constitutes housing discrimination and what their rights are.

The first is scheduled for Wednesday, April 3, at 7 p.m. at the Easton Area Community Center, located at 901 Washington St.

This presentation is sponsored by the sustainable development department of the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation, and will include the opportunity for public input that will be used in creating future plans for affordable house, according to a flyer for the event.

A second event is planned for Tuesday, April 16 at 1 p.m. at the Easton Area Neighborhood
Center, 902 Philadelphia Road.

Advocates from North Penn Legal Services will talk about residents' rights and how they protect people from housing discrimination. The presentation will also include information about evictions, security deposits and how to get a landlord to make repairs.

Light refreshments will also be provided.
